INTERIORS 08 was a great success.  Attendees enjoyed a variety of educational programs, headed out into New Orleans to experience hands-on learning opportunities and made connections with their friends and peers.

The final day of INTERIORS 08 is no less exciting, all beginning with a rousing keynote from Bran Ferren on redesigning the innovation process.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the day will be this afternoon’s youth workshop. Design professionals will expose students ranging in age from 14 – 24 to the design process and career paths for careers in interior design as they coach teams participating in a hands-on one day design competition. Jean-Michel Cousteau serves as an impassioned spokesman and diplomat for the environment as president of the Ocean Futures Society. A graduate of the Paris School of Architecture, Jean-Michel is a member of the Ordre National des Architectes.

REGREEN

Yesterday ASID and USGBC released the nation’s first sustainable residential remodeling guidelines at INTERIORS 08. The REGREEN program is a series of guidelines that include best practices, learning programs and valuable print and electronic resources for those looking to green up an existing home whether it’s room by room, or an entire house.

From Rosemarie Rossetti’s thought-provoking keynote to an evening celebrating outstanding achievement in the industry, it promises to be yet another refreshing and informative day at INTERIORS 08.

An inspiring keynote from Jean-Michel Cousteau gets things started this morning at INTERIORS 08. The day is packed with an extraordinary variety of educational programs promising to meet the needs of designers at every experience level and specialization as well as contribute to the professional development of student attendees.

This afternoon we’ll be taking to the streets, participating in exciting hands-on experientials.  Attendees will be exploring Ricca’s Architectural Warehouse and Jackson Square; getting an in-depth look at the mansions in the Garden District or trying their hands at capturing photographs of the French Quarter.

The day ends with Jubilation, with the sights and sounds of Mardi Gras as the backdrop to this year’s auction of incredible items from around the world.

From a preview of the new ReGreen initiative to an in-depth discussion about diversity in the industry, INTERIORS 08 kicks off today with a series of exciting and informative pre-conference workshops.

Many early arrivals will be enjoying one of the fascinating tours scheduled for this afternoon, including the site where the incredible Mardi Gras floats are built.

Other attendees have chosen to explore the city on their own, taking a day of relaxation and downtime before jumping into the conference program.
